Jam First, Record Breakers Second!
When Cornwall Hospice came to us with an ambitious plan to bring the Guinness World Record for the largest cream tea party home to Cornwall, we couldn’t wait to get stuck in and support them with branded assets for the event!
Their goal was to beat the previous record of 1,088 cream tea party attendees (held all the way in Beijing!), while also raising vital funds, and boost charity brand recognition across the county. Having rebranded Cornwall Hospice last year, we were beyond thrilled to help theme this iconic celebration and to also become official sponsors of the event.
Playing into Cornwall’s legendary ‘Jam First’ tradition, we created two fun, cartoon-style event mascots: Crumbles and Tealula! Accompanied by playful, jam-like lettering, the ‘Great Cornish Cream Tea’ brand came to life across event marketing, tote bags, caps, and donation centres county-wide.
On Saturday 19th September, an amazing 2,483 people gathered at the Royal Cornwall Showground and together, we officially smashed the record! It was the ultimate way to celebrate Cornwall Hospice’s 45th anniversary of supporting people across the Duchy.
