Chocolarder beautifully crafts small-batch bean-to-bar chocolate of the finest quality without compromising on their ethics. They saw major growth in 2019, paving the way for us to position their products in the luxury confectionery space while elevating the brand and showcasing them as a modern, purpose-driven company dedicated to fair processes and sustainable practices.
The Process
We evolved the brand to highlight their precise craftsmanship and incredible taste appeal through intricate but balanced design, whilst communicating the story of their provenance, process and traceability in a meaningful, tactile way for consumers.
We designed a unique plastic-free packaging format that allowed the brand to shine and maintain the quality and freshness of the sensational chocolate. This included a custom embossed and foiled outer cardboard sleeve, a compostable inner pouch, and an interchangeable flavour-specific card insert.
We evolved the logomark to include a custom logotype, building in shapes and details that echo both cacao pods and the smooth texture of the chocolate.
The hand-drawn, intricate pen and ink illustrations celebrate the origins of the ingredients and reflect the precise craft of Chocolarder’s chocolate-making process.

The Results
The result was a packaging solution that was both luxury and sustainable. Chocolarder is now stocked by luxury shops across the country – including Selfridge’s. They’ve recently been selected as Selfridges’ “Bright New Things”, and have been featured in national press – from The Independent to The Telegraph.
